CASINO.COM REVIEW
Casino.com might have gained itself one of the most sought-after web domains in the gaming world - apparently it cost $5.5 million to secure - but there's plenty else here to draw gamblers looking for some strong blackjack renditions, high security, and strong support.
The site isn't perhaps helped by its slightly busy layout, and the clean navigational system of other sites is very much ignored here. Rather than using the top menu to divert you towards different types of game, Casino.com offers access to a variety of promotions and help pages. While we appreciate the attempt to supply guidance, it would be nice if the site was a little more logical, and signposted the different game sections properly. In truth, the web-site is unlikely to matter to most players, since you'll definitely want to download the full software in order to get the greater choice of games. The layout in the software version is a definite improvement, if a little flat. Nonetheless, it's likely to be the quality of the games that will bring players back again and again.
Fantastic Microgaming Platform
Casino.com has chosen Playtech as its software platform. Playtech may be relatively common as a provider, but with good reason (
read the Playtech casino software review here). While you don't get quite the sensational sequence of twists that Microgaming offers, Playtech's line-up is still one of the very best. Highly playable renditions of blackjack are there for those who just want an old-fashioned version of the game, and Blackjack Pro is highly polished. But there are additional plays on the original rules. Double Attack Blackjack spins basic strategy onto its head by allowing the player to make additional bets with knowledge of the Dealer's up card. Progressive Blackjack has players throwing in side-bets, watching the jackpot swell until it's finally scooped up by anyone who can land four suited aces - inferior combinations of aces also win prizes, keeping players hooked ready for their next card to turn up.
Live Dealer Blackjack is offered, and Playtech's live games are some of the best available. The quality of the video is superb, and the choice of tables and constant chat maintains constant interest and excitement. Playtech is also ahead of the curve with its mobile software, and Casino.com's special mobile-optimised titles delivers a crisp classic blackjack game to the small screen.
Generous Bonuses - But Not For Blackjack Enthusiasts
Casino.com seized our attention with its generous Welcome bonus - or, rather, eight of them. You can get a 100% increase on deposits of up to 400. There is a 40x wagering requirement before you can claim the money, but this only covers the bonus itself, so it actually amounts to 20x the deposit and bonus - essentially bang in line with Casino.com's rivals. Having achieved this, though, you then have the opportunity to earn up to seven further weekly bonuses on the same terms - adding up to a breathtaking 3,200 in total. This is a brilliant introductory offer, and one of the best we've seen. The bad news is that this offer excludes table games, so us blackjack enthusiasts will have to turn to the slots for a bit.
Casino.com runs regular reload bonuses for established players, and a string of other prizes are offered too. Again, though, playing blackjack doesn't count as a qualifying game. There is also a loyalty scheme, where you can amass points and turn them into cash. Gain 20,000 points and you get entry to the firm's VIP scheme, giving you access to exclusive gifts and promotions, better withdrawal times, and invites to VIP-only events. All in all, Casino.com's promotions are very impressive. It's just a shame that blackjack specialists are effectively barred.
Top Trust and Payment Options
The firm is extremely trustworthy, and has signed up to the rigorous Gibraltar Gaming Commission & Authority licensing scheme. High security measures are employed to keep money and details safe, and support is available 24 hours a day by email, live chat, and telephone.
Casino.com has one of the largest selections of deposit options we've seen. Credit and debit cards brush shoulders with e-Wallets like Skrill and Neteller, but more unusual choices are available too. Entropay, Ukash, PaySafecard and ClickandBuy are all included, as are EcoPayz, Click2pay and WebMoney. There's no provision for PayPal, but otherwise we can't fault Casino.com's comprehensive list of payment options.
It's a shame that Casino.com isn't a little more accommodating towards blackjack players, and we're excluded from many of the best promotions. Otherwise, though, the site gives us exemplary access to some excellent games, while support, security and payment options are outstanding. It would take a brave company to lay claim to the revered casino.com domain, but we suspect this company has the ability to pull it off.
